Our Lil Man's getting hair! Yea!

Casey is growing so fast! Too fast! He speaks his own language and talks constantly! He is definitely head strong like his father and we used to say he looked just like him too BUT seeing a lot of his Mom in him as he grows!! He continues to be the best thing in the world as far as we are concerned!

The New Andersen

We got a new addition to the family! Yes, some of you are saying - "You said you weren't going to get another dog!" Your right, but we couldn't help it! Its been so quiet and lonely since Loomis died. So meet our new family member - Lyka. We just love blue heelers and we think shes just so damn cute!

Happy 90th Pummy!!

We spotted Elvis

Elvis (our bro-n-law, Matt) entertained us at our Grandmothers 90th B-Day party! It was fun having him sing to all of us. It was funny watching him serenade Darwyn. What a great birthday celebration.

Happy 1st Birthday Casey - July 8, 2009

Again its been a very long time since I posted! A friend told me the other day that my grandson has been playing with that same box on my blog for months now. Guess its time to update.Life is still just as busy! All is well in our family. Wouldnt do any good to complain anyway if it wasn't.

Dar is still waiting for some steady work. That stimulus didn't seem to help the heavy equipment operating business very much, at least it hasn't helped us yet. Hopefully soon. Meanwhile he is spending his "laid off" days fishing. Don't hear much complaining out of him. Unless its bad weather of course. Just gotta love those good ole unemployment checks, ugh!!!

Erik, Molly, and Casey have had their own apartment for a while now but looking like they'll be moving back in with us for a while. Not enough steady work out there for them either so they are both working on raising Casey. Molly is such a great Mom, its no wonder my grandbaby is so awesome! Erik is still skateboarding and skating in tournaments. I dont think he will ever grow out of that! No broken bones for a while though! It'll be a little crowded with them back living with us but we'll get through it! Hopefully it will help them get on their feet. We love having them with us! Our little man Casey is growing like a weed. He's in to everything. None stop going! But just so freaking cute. We just couldn't imagine our family without him! He lights up all of our days!

Araya is doing well. She finished her treatment for the mycobacterium she had picked up! Yeah! Health-wise she is trucking right along, still has her battles but getting through it. She is busy working on finishing up her high school work. She's a senior this year. Oh yeah! (damn,Im old! my baby is a senior!) She has also started her training at the Weber County ATC for medical billing & transcription. She seems to be really enjoying it. She been living the single life for about 4-6 months now. Its been a little hard for her but she seems to be getting through it ok. We all know how hard it was to get over a break up with your first love, especially after dating for almost 2 years. Her & Kenny still stay in touch but no more dating.

As for me, I'm still as busy as usual. Still working too much, both jobs are keeping me pretty damn busy! Almost finished with up my bachelors degree. Applying for graduate school next spring, after I tackle the GRE. Yes I am crazy! Just don't want to be a bedside nurse forever.

All in all were getting along pretty well here in the Andersen home. Well enough for now! Hope all is well is everyone else's world! Stay in touch!

All my love,
Christi

All these toy's to play with but he likes the box!

Casey loves toys but as you can see he liked the box they were in better! Go figure! He is just so fun! I am loving being a grandmother!
Its been a while since I posted! Life is just too busy! All is well is our family. Cant complain if it wasn't. Dar is still waiting for the snow to clear so he can go back to work and most of all - start fishing! He's been spending his "laid off" days cleaning the shop and preparing his boat for summer. Erik, Molly, and Casey have moved in with us for a while. Erik lost his job in Colorado and wasn't able to find work there so he's trying his luck back here in Utah. Its nice having them here. Its a little more crowded and Grandma (me) is having to baby-proof the house once again but were loving having them here. Molly is starting back to school this week, she finished her business administration and is now working on CAD. She's been a great addition to our family. Little Casey is Awesome! and is also now mobile - God Help Us! Araya is doing well. She only has 2 more months left on her 6 month treatment for the mycobacterium she picked up then she will be 4 pills less a day! Yeah! She is unpleasantly working on her 11th grade work at home and still dating her cute Kenny. They will be going on 2 years soon. And as for me, I'm still as busy as usual. Still working both jobs and trying to finish up my bachelors degree. Im seriously toying with getting my master's/nurse practitioner just havent decided when and where but Im thinking I dont want to be a bedside nurse forever. So all in all were doing pretty good here in the Andersen home. Well enough for now! Hope all is well is everyone else world!

The Make A Wish Shopping spree

So the day for Araya's Make a Wish has come and gone! And I have to say that it was an incredible day!!! A wonderful day! Araya had a smile on her face the entire day! We spent the day with Araya's "Wish Grantor's" - Brad and Kris - who made her feel like she was the Queen for the day. First we started out at Best Buy where they were absolutely incredible to her! We left there with some pretty amazing "goodies." Then it was off to Fashion Place Mall where Araya got to go just crazy shopping for clothes, jewelry, and best of all SHOES!! We ended the day with all you can eat sushi at Beni Hana's which was to die for!! I was definately a day that I dont think Araya will ever forget! She's still smiling!! Thank you so much to everyone involved!!
Especially Kris, Brad, and The Make A Wish Foundation!!!

The Make A Wish Party

On December 20, 2008, The Make A Wish Foundation and United Healthcare sponsored a party for Araya to let her share her Make A Wish moments with her family and friends! We met at the Make A Wish building here in Salt Lake which is a really neat place to see! What a special feeling you get when you read about all the different wishes children around the world ask for and what a strong rush of emotions you get when you walk through their Hall of Stars which is a hall filled with over 400 different stained glass stars that have been hung in honor of each child who was granted a wish through our Utah Chapter of Make A Wish. I put together a DVD that showcased pictures of Araya from birth to present and also included photos from her shopping spree. We all watched the DVD with Araya. We laughed at the funny photos and teared up with the emotional ones! It was great! We ate cake and ice cream and just enjoyed the time to together and the time with Araya! What a very special time in our lifes!! Araya definately deserved this Wish and the Make a Wish Staff and United Healthcare Staff really made it a special day for Araya and her family!! What great jobs those guys have!!

Araya's a "Make a Wish Kid"

A few months ago, Araya's Aunt Nay gave her a good surprise when she told her that she put her name in for a Wish at the Make a Wish Foundation. They contacted us to get some information and then we didn't hear from them again. So we thought "Bummer, she didn't get it!" Well our surprise they contacted us last week! I tear up when the guy on the phone said "Araya's a Make a Wish Kid!" She's so excited! She hasn't decided what her wish is yet, Im sure she'll pick something exciting for her. She is really interested in being a photographer so she is thinking on something around those lines! I guess we will see! They are giving her a Make a wish party! So we will hope to see you all there!! Were so excited!!!

Grandpa & Casey - Just hanging out!

Grandpa is really liking his Grandson

So over our most recent visit with Erik, Molly, and Casey, I got to see the really soft side of my husband! He is thoroughly enjoying Casey! Not that he didn't enjoy our kids but I guess it goes to the belief that it is different with your grandchildren. Calmer, funner!! Darwyn spent the weekend holding Casey, watching TV with him, just hanging out!! He even gave up a day of fishing to hang with his grandson! It makes me happy to see the two of them together! I was able to capture a few Kodak moments! Enjoy!!

Our weekend visit with Casey & his parents :)
